We Cannot Give Out What We Can’t Give In: Introducing REWIRE
I’m writing this from the woods, quite literally ā kids and husband at soccer practice, cold night air, finally ready to talk about the thing that’s been cooking behind the scenes for weeks. So let’s get into it: our waitlist doors for REWIRE are opening, and I want to tell you exactly what this is and why I believe it’s some of the most important work I’ve ever built.
A Little Backstory
A few weeks ago, I opened a waitlist for something I was calling, generally, Mothering Ourselves Mindfully. Since then, it’s evolved ā the way things do when you let them breathe ā into something more specific, more tangible, and honestly more exciting: REWIRE.
This lands right alongside our bigger transition, too. The School of MOM, which I started back in 2020, is becoming the Home of MOM. MOM still stands for the same thing it always has ā Mothering Ourselves Mindfully ā and it’s still at the heart of everything: learning to actively be, moment to moment, the mother we’ve always needed. Not just for ourselves, but so we can be the mother our own kids need, especially when the relationship we had with our own mom was strained, absent, or hard.
Why This Is Urgent
Here’s the hard truth underneath all of it: we cannot give out what we can’t give in. If we can’t be that mother for ourselves first, it is really, truly difficult to be it for our kids.
I think a lot of us are feeling this urgency right now for another reason, too. There’s so much hopelessness circulating ā so much “what can I possibly do about any of this?” And the honest answer is: the only thing we know we can change is ourselves. That’s it. That’s the whole lever we have. So this fall, we rewire.
Why REWIRE Is a “Life Lab” and Not Another Course
I want to be upfront about something: the last thing you need is another thing to consume. Another PowerPoint you’re half-listening to while your brain is somewhere else entirely. We are drowning in information already, and that’s not what’s going to move the needle.
That’s why REWIRE isn’t structured as a course. It’s a seven-week life lab ā your life is your meditation cushion, your laboratory. Because here’s what I know both personally and professionally: insight is not the same as integration and action. We can learn about something, talk about something, understand it intellectually for years, and still not actually be different. I know this firsthand ā I learned about meditation for years, bought the cushion, downloaded the app, and didn’t actually do the thing for a long time.
REWIRE isn’t for the woman who needs to keep learning and thinking about her patterns a little longer ā I celebrate that season, I’ve lived it. REWIRE is for the woman who already knows what her pattern is, probably knows where it came from, and knows on some level how to heal it, but isn’t doing the thing yet.
Pick One Pattern
Here’s how it works: you bring one pattern. Just one. It could be how you judge your body. It could be anxious 3am rumination. It could be pushing through exhaustion instead of resting, snappiness with your partner, defensiveness with your mother or mother-in-law, or the “A+ student” programming that tells you if you can’t do something perfectly, you shouldn’t do it at all.
Here’s the beautiful part: the specific pattern almost doesn’t matter. One of my favorite therapists, Lynn Lyons, taught me the distinction between content and process ā the content is whatever your particular pattern is, but the process of rewiring is shared by all of us. So when you learn to map and tend to your one pattern, you walk away with a blueprint you can apply to anything else that shows up.
How We’re Actually Going to Do This
This work happens in the body first. Everything is sourced and programmed in the nervous system, so rather than just thinking and talking about our patterns ā which is often where therapy and self-help stall out ā we’re going to be mapping them, feeling them, and practicing new ways of being while the pattern is actually live. That’s the part that makes the difference. Practicing a calm response in a therapist’s office is one thing; staying grounded when you’re actually standing in front of your mom is another. Rewiring has to happen in real conditions, in real time.
What It Looks Like
REWIRE runs seven weeks, with one live call every Tuesday at 1pm Eastern, starting October 27th. Between calls, there’s a community space to keep the work going, get support, and witness other women working through their own patterns ā because watching someone else’s process helps you with yours too. Replays are available if you miss a week, because life happens.
Join the Waitlist
If you’re hearing about this before doors open to the wider community, get on the waitlist HERE. You’ll get $100 off ā the lowest this program will ever be priced, since it’s our first round ā plus a welcome gift: two sets of yoga tune-up therapy balls and one of my favorite simple tools, a cell phone sleeping bag, to help with the thing that gets in the way of almost everyone’s follow-through.
I cannot wait to be in this with you. It’s going to be uncomfortable at times, and it’s also going to be fun. Let’s rewire together.
